Questions & Answers
The honest answers to what you're wondering
Every fair question, answered straight. If something's on your mind before you decide, it's almost certainly here. If it isn't, just ask.
Is It Right For Me
Fit and relevance
Who is this actually for?
Two kinds of people. First, anyone who wants to raise their own standard to live and work better, you don't need to lead anyone to get the full value, the practice builds you first. Second, business owners, team leaders, and managers whose standard sets the tone for others. If you carry responsibility for how things are done, whether for a team or just for your own life, it's built for you.
I'm already experienced. Will this just tell me what I know?
You may well recognise some of the ideas, that's a fair point, and an honest answer is yes, some will be familiar. The value isn't in novelty. It's in the structure and the order that turn things you know into things you actually live by, consistently. Knowing a principle and operating by it every day are very different, and the gap between them is exactly what this closes.
What if I'm not in a leadership role?
Then this is built for you just as much. Every one of the twelve steps develops the individual, not only the first few. Communication, accountability, focus, resilience, self-leadership, growth, all of them apply to your own life whether or not you lead anyone. You don't need a team to get the full value of the practice.
I'm not a leader yet. Can this help me become one?
This is one of the best reasons to start. Leadership isn't a title you're handed, it's a standard you build in yourself first, and that's exactly what this practice develops: how you think, how you follow through, how you hold yourself when no one is watching. People notice that long before they give you a team. If your aim is to become someone worth following, this is where it begins. You build the person, and the role tends to follow.
Will It Work For Me
Effort, time, and results
Is this just motivation that wears off?
No, and this is the heart of it. Motivation is the thing The One Standard is built to replace. It's a structured practice built on a short weekly session, then carried consciously through your week, so your progress comes from the system and the repetition, not from how inspired you feel on a given day. That's precisely why it lasts when motivation doesn't.
How much time does it really take?
The weekly session takes fifteen minutes, with five to ten minutes to prepare. From there it becomes a daily practice across the twelve weeks, you carry each step into the work you are already doing. It's deliberately small, because consistency beats intensity every time. Something you'll actually keep doing for twelve weeks will change more than something ambitious you abandon in two.
What if I fall behind or miss a week?
You pick up where you left off. There's no class to keep pace with and no deadline pressure. The program waits for you. Missing a week isn't failure, it's normal, and the structure is forgiving by design so a missed week never becomes a reason to quit.
How soon will I see a difference?
Many people feel a shift in the first couple of weeks, simply from deciding what they'll no longer walk past. The deeper change is cumulative and shows up over the twelve weeks and beyond, because the steps compound. This is a practice, not a quick fix, and that's the honest reason it holds.
Price & Value
What it costs, and what it's worth
Why this price?
The program is priced as a serious tool for people who want to operate at a higher standard, not as a cheap download you'll forget. Set against what a slipping standard quietly costs you, in missed potential personally, and in rework, turnover, and wasted effort professionally, a one-time price for a practice you keep for life is a small number. The real question isn't what it costs. It's what it's worth to become someone who holds a higher standard from here on.
Can't I find this kind of thing for free?
You can find the individual ideas, scattered across dozens of books and videos. What you can't find for free is the synthesis: the right principles, in the right order, structured into a practice you can actually run. The value isn't the information. It's the years of distilling it into something that works, and the time that saves you.
Should I buy a single product, or the bundle?
Start with whatever matches where you are. The 12-Step Program is the engine and stands on its own. If you want the full personal practice, the Practitioner Bundle adds the three tools that embed it (Planner, Journal, and Annual Review) and saves against buying them separately. There's no wrong entry point; you can always add more later. If you're looking to run The One Standard across a team, that's handled through Corporate Licensing.
Risk & Logistics
Buying with confidence
What if it doesn't work for me?
Try it for thirty days, and this applies to every product we sell, not just the program. If it's not right for you, email for a full refund, no questions asked. The work has to earn its place, and we're confident it will, so you're never stuck with something that didn't deliver. There's nothing to lose by starting.
How is it delivered?
It's a digital product. Your download arrives by email within minutes of checkout, with lifetime access and any future updates included. You work through it at your own pace, in order, on any device. Nothing ships, nothing expires.
What's the difference between the program I buy and the corporate one?
Both are the same twelve-step system, with the same depth and rigour. The program sold here is the Individual Edition: every step speaks to you and your own growth. Organisations that license The One Standard receive the Team Edition, purpose-built for facilitation, where each step also turns outward to the people you lead. Buying the individual program is for your own development and doesn't include the right to facilitate it for a team. Running it across a team is handled through Corporate Licensing.
Is my payment secure?
Yes. Checkout is handled through a secure, encrypted payment processor, the same infrastructure trusted by major businesses. Your card details are never stored by us. Prices are shown in USD, AUD, EUR, and GBP: choose your currency at the top of the page, and the price you see is the exact price charged at checkout.
Who's behind The One Standard?
The One Standard was created by Alexander J Coates, built from years of holding standards under real pressure across a wide range of work, and watching closely what happens when they slip. It isn't theory assembled in a seminar room. It's a practice forged in the actual doing, which is the only place this kind of thing can be earned.
Can I run this for my team or company?
The standard purchase is a single-user licence for your own development. To run The One Standard across a team or organisation, there's Corporate Licensing, which includes the right to facilitate sessions and deploy it at scale. If that's you, start a conversation on the Corporate page and you will get a considered reply.
How flexible is corporate licensing?
Very. The term, number of people, and rollout are agreed per organisation rather than fixed. You can take an annual or multi-year licence, pay in full or by an instalment plan, and start with a defined pilot for a limited group before committing to a full rollout. Affiliates can be included by agreement, and workshops, keynotes, and tailored support are available as additional services. It's all shaped in conversation, so reach out through the Corporate page with what you're trying to achieve.
